Jharkhand Jharkhand is the 28th State of the Indian Union and came in to existence on 15th Nov. 2000 through the Bihar reorganization act. This was an outcome of the ongoing effort from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in the post-independence era. It has an area of 79,714 sq km and a population of 26,909,428 habitants.
