Results : Bye Elections 2009 : Legislative Assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and NCT of Delhi

Bihar Bye-election Results:

17th Sept. 2009, The results of bye-elections of 18 Assembly constituencies in Bihar comes as a major setback to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the opposition alliance of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) bagged eight seats in by-elections for 18 assembly seats in the state.

RJD won on Bochaha, Kalyanpur, Phulwarisharief, Aurai and Ramgarh seats while LJP won Warisnagar, Araria and Bodh Gaya seats.

The ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U) won three seats (Triveniganj, Bagha and Dhoraiya) and its ally the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got two seats of Begusarai and Chainpur.

Congress (went to polls independently) managed victories in Chenari and Simribakhtiarpur.
