Result Domariyaganj Assembly Constituency By-elections June 2010

7th June 2010, The Bahujan Samaj Party nominee Khatoon Taufique defeated  Bhartiya Janata Party candidate Prem Prakash Tiwari by a margin of 15842 votes. It was the sudden death of Khatoon's husband Taufique Ahmed that necessitated the bye-election. With this result, the BSP retain its strength of 226 in the 403 member UP assembly.

BSP's Khatoon Taufiq recieved 44,765 votes where as BJP's Om Prakash get 28,923 votes. Peace Party of India's candidate Sachchidanand Pandey get 26,300 votes. Samajwadi Party's Kamal Yusuf finished at 21,924 votes and Congress (Ashok Kumar Singh) recived a total of 19,206 votes.

Result of Pennagaram Assembly Constituency By-election March 2010

30th March 2010, the DMK candidate P. N. P. INBASEKARAN has won the Pennagaram seat in Tamilnadu by defeating his nearest rival of PMK, G.K.M. Tamilkumaran by a margin of 36,384 votes. Mr. Inbasekaran received 77,669 votes whereas Mr. Tamilkumaran received 41,285 votes.

Schedule : Bye-Elections 2010

A casual vacancy in the State Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu from 83-Pennagaram AC in Dharmapuri district fell vacant due to death of the sitting member on 01-12-2009. The Election Commission earlier announced for holding bye-election from the said constituency
along with other bye-elections in Gujarat, Haryana and Maharashtra. The polling date was fixed on 20-01- 2010. However, following representations from various political parties, the said notification for bye-election to Pennagaram was withdrawn.

Follwoing is the revised scheduled announced on 19th Feb. 2010 for the by-elections in 83-Pennagaram AC in Dharmapuri district.
