Key Constituency : Raiganj

Raiganj is an important parliamentary constituency in the state of West Bengal due to the reason that Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi (Cabinet Minister and senior congress leader)has been able to win and retain this seat in last two elections. This time his wife Deepa Dasmunsi contested the election from this seat and won the election. Her main rival was Bireshwar Lahiri of CPM. In total there were 12 candidates in the fray.
