Key Constituency : Amethi

Amethi is one of the important constituencies of Uttar Pradesh state due to the reason that congress general secretary and star campaigner Rahul Gandhi contested from here and won the election with remarkable majority. He was the sitting MP from this seat in 2004 general elections also. In this 2009 general elections, his main fight was with Pradeep Singh (BSP) and Ashish Shukla (BJP) and in total there were 15 candidates in the fray.
